What did you do before working at Make-A-Wish Georgia?
I had the opportunity to serve as an intern for Make-A-Wish Georgia during the fall 2014 and fall 2015 semesters. In December of 2015, I ended my role as the Volunteer Services Intern, walked across the stage to receive my diploma from Kennesaw State University, and joined the Make-A-Wish Georgia team. The best part is that all of those events happened within 48 hours!
What's your favorite part of the job?
Most new volunteers reach out to me after experiencing something wish-related, like hearing about a current volunteers’ experience, seeing a Wish being granted, or even watching BatKid on Netflix. Regardless of what they were able to see or hear, the effect is the same. These individuals get a glimpse into the Power of a Wish and it immediately pushes them to action.
The best part of my job is being able to help direct that new found passion into opportunities for volunteers to support Wish Kids in their own communities. The result is a team of people with some of the biggest hearts you could imagine.
What would your wish be?
My wish is to see the Northern Lights in Greenland.
