20th Anniversary

Founded in 1995, Make-A-Wish Georgia has granted nearly 7,000 wishes to local children in the state of Georgia. Help us celebrate 20 years of wishes come true!

  1. There are 61 local Make-A-Wish chapters in the United States.

  2. The Make-A-Wish national office is located in Phoenix, Arizona.

  3. Granted in 1980, the first ever wish was to be a police officer.

  4. The mission of Make-A-Wish is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.

  5. The vision of Make-A-Wish is to grant the wish of every eligible child.

  9. Granted on May 23, 1995, the first wish in chapter history was granted to a young man named Ares, whose wish was to meet the Atlanta Hawks.
