WARNER ROBINS, Ga. – Make-A-Wish Georgia is proud to announce a partnership with Robins Federal Credit Union. Robins Federal Credit Union has graciously donated $27,000 to help grant the heartfelt wishes for three Middle and Central Georgia children battling life-threatening medical conditions.
With the average cost of a wish being $9,000, Robins Federal Credit Union will help underwrite the costs for wish experiences similar to that of local wish child, Khadijah who lives in Macon. Khadijah was granted her wish to be on the set of “Awkward”, an MTV show. She received the star treatment of being flown to Los Angeles, having her own dressing room, a full wardrobe session and performed lines with the cast.
Although living with congenital heart disease has made it difficult for Khadijah to live like other kids her age, her wish experience gave her something to look forward to and allowed her to forget her struggles with doctor visits, hospitalization, and uncertainty.
Medical professionals say the wish experience can improve a patients’ state of mind, willingness to comply with treatment requirements and ability to recover. Every wish, whether it is a wish to go, meet, have, or be brings hope, strength and joy at a time when a child needs it the most.
With their long time history in the Middle and Central Georgia area now covering 16 counties, we are thrilled that Robins Federal has chosen to be a sponsor for Make-A-Wish Georgia. The lives of these wish kids have been impacted because of our sponsors like Robins Federal who are giving back to the community.
