I was an elementary school teacher for four years, so I have a passion for helping children. Make-A-Wish Georgia kind of fell into my lap, but it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
After showing interest, I was invited to the Macy’s Believe Day to watch LaKayla’s wish to have her very own music video. To experience her witnessing the video launch touched me in so many ways. I knew I had made the right decision by supporting this organization. And I knew I wanted to be more involved.
Since then, I’ve adopted a wish, attended the Evening of Hearts and Wishes event, met many great people within the organization and served on the planning committee for Wish Ball.
I’m also excited to get others involved; my aunt was a teacher for 22 years and is also a donor.
Supporting Make-A-Wish Georgia reminds me of how lucky I am. It motivates me daily. When I think about those kids and the battles they face, it puts my own challenges into perspective. I can stay positive knowing that I am giving back to a cause that makes a difference.
Helping these kids gives me hope and keeps me humble.
My name is Elizabeth Hamilton and I am #ForWishes.
