Eleven-year-old Dalton has common variable immune disorder. This condition frequently keeps him home, because his immune system can’t afford to be compromised.
For this reason, this boy dreamed of a big tree house retreat – his own sanctuary where he could hangout, read and “do stuff!" He loves to play basketball and baseball and is a huge fan of the Atlanta Braves which is exactly why Dalton wished for his very own Braves-themed tree house.
Designed by architect R W Designs & Contracting and built by DPR Construction, the crew built Dalton a blue and red club house, complete with suspension bridge and crow’s nest.
The Atlanta Braves graciously donated an actual stadium seat for the tree house, lots of bats, pictures of Braves members and baseballs to complete the theme. Dalton even helped out on the build by putting his handprints in the cement.
This was a truly magical team effort all round. Dalton’s dream tree house construction took several months to complete and it gave him something else to focus on – he could hardly contain his containment! Dalton came home every day with a smile on his face to see what the DPR crew had done – a smile that his mother had not seen in a long time.
