Wish Kid Turned Volunteer
In 1998, four-year-old Bridget was granted her wish to go to Disney World. She spent a week with her family in the Happiest Place on Earth, away from the stresses of her cancer diagnosis.
Almost 20 years later, Bridget gives back to Make-A-Wish Georgia as a wish granting volunteer. She was also inspired by her illness and her wish experience to study nursing in college.

Inspired to be a Nurse
"Even though I was sick at a young age, both my experience with cancer and my wish gave me hope and direction for my future," said Bridget. "My wish led me to want to pursing a career in nursing.”
After graduating from nursing school at the University of North Georgia, Bridget now works at the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Unit at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta—the same unit where she was treated two decades previous.
