Mia came to her forever family through adoption at two and a half years old. She was spunky, smiley and loved big... but her liver wasn’t as kind. Just after Mia’s 5th birthday, her health took a turn for the worst and she was placed on the transplant list.
Due to some other medical conditions she also faced, doctors warned Mia’s family that finding a donor liver wouldn’t be enough. It truly had to be a perfect liver and perfect scenario. On December 18, 2017, they got the life-saving call!
FROM ISOLATED TO INSPIRATIONAL
Mia is one of seven kids, so she thrives around the hustle and bustle of a big family, and playtime is her favorite! Leading up to her transplant, Mia was separated from her siblings a lot while in the hospital. And every day she wished to go home soon so they could all play together again.
When it came time to share her most heartfelt wish with her wish fairies, she knew it had to be something everyone could enjoy... a playset!!
Mia’s wish is complete with a rock-climbing wall, a blue slide, swings, a bridge and even a picnic table where she can eat with her brothers and sisters.
“Every time we pull in the driveway, Mia starts shouting, ‘I wanna slide! I wanna slide!’,” said Alison, her mom.
Mia’s medical journey has been tough on her entire family. “Her siblings felt the impact, too with my husband and I being away a lot,” said her mom. “They all understand the WHY behind her playground and what it resembles, which is SO special to me as their mom.”
