Local Women Raise Donations for Local Chapter

A group of women committed to helping children in their local community came together to host a fundraiser for Make-A-Wish® Georgia.

Polo Dealing for Wishes,’ a “casino night” themed event, hosted in the private residence of Julie and Mitch Hilsen, raised $8,000 for Make-A-Wish Georgia, an organization with a mission of granting wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses.

Committee members Julie Hilsen, Heather Terry, Nisel Anello, Brigitte Tryonoviech and Linda Cartwright recruited assistance from the local business community to support their efforts.   “We could not think of a better way to start the New Year than to resolve to help wishes come true for kids in our community. It was a magical night and we were overwhelmed by the support and generosity of our community and close friends,” said Julie Hilsen, one of the event hosts.   Food and catering were provided by Outback Steak House in Johns Creek, Jim and Nicks, Ted’s Montana Grill, Norman’s Landing, Castleberry Ale House, Pepperoni’s at Midway Family Festival and Wild Wing.  Party decorations and set-up were donated by Crush Vintage Rentals and Lanier Conference Center.  Local sponsors of the event included Village Podiatry Centers, Charles Spillers Law Firm, Wells Fargo Advisors: Greg Wade and Jeff Gray, Chateau Elan, Atlanta National Golf Club, WSBTV, Vanity Salon, and Polo Golf and Tennis.  There was a special appearance by an Elvis Presley tribute artist from Memphis Remembers Elvis.  Over 100 guests attended the fun and exciting event, and 100% of the funds raised will go directly to Make-A-Wish Georgia.
