An Open Letter from a Wish Sibling to His Employer

Josiah Meinert
The brother of one of our wish kids also happens to be an employee at a Make-A-Wish national partner, Party City. He wrote an open-note thanking his employer for their support of local wishes.

Dear Party City,

I want to thank you for collecting donations for Make-A-Wish Georgia. This wonderful organization truly does make wishes come true. In January of 2014, my brother Josiah underwent open heart surgery to have a mechanical valve put in his heart. We have never had an experience like this in our family, and it was very nail-biting for all of us as a family. This organization stepped into our lives and has given us opportunities such as my brother being an honorary pitcher at a minor league baseball game, attending a National Hot Rod Association race and giving us the chance to go to Disney World as a family for the first time. Make-A-Wish Georgia has brought comfort and safety to my brother and our lives as well.

As a store associate at a Party City in Buford, GA, I know that the organizations Party City supports are all worthy causes, but Make-A-Wish Georgia has a special place in my heart. Without wonderful people and corporations such as Party City, this organization would not be as successful as it is today. Thank you for supporting Make-A-Wish Georgia and changing children’s lives every day. I am very pleased to work for such a company that helps support the well-being of children around the country, and for helping make my brother’s wish come true.

Sincerely,

Justin Meinert
