W.I.S.H. Society

Founded in 2011, the W.I.S.H. Society was developed to provide a unique opportunity for women in philanthropy to unite in support of Make-A-Wish® Georgia.

The W.I.S.H. Society is dedicated to serving as an organizational partner, based upon the needs of Make-A-Wish Georgia. The group participates in all three of the chapter's signature events, and hosts it's own event, the Evening of Hearts and Wishes.

Evening of Mardi Gras and Wishes

On Friday, March 8, 2019, The W.I.S.H. Society hosted Evening of Mardi Gras & Wishes at ADAC. It was a fun and inspiring night!

Undeniably, the star of the evening was wish kid Ethan. Undeniably, the star of the evening was wish kid Ethan. He bravely spoke in front of all the guests, with a sense of humor and a personality that lit up the room. At just 11 years old, Ethan’s world was turned upside down when he was diagnosed with blood cancer. Normal activities like going to school and spending time with friends quickly turned into doctors’ appointments, chemo treatments, hospital stays and sometimes even isolation. When Ethan’s immune system keeps him from spending time with his friends in person, he turns to video games to connect with them. His love of the digital world inspired his wish to create his own game. He’s laid it all out – character names, mission, purpose, etc. Cancer is the villain, and Ethan is the hero. Once his wish is granted, his hope is that this game will be a distraction for other kids facing cancer and a good reminder that they can win their fight, too.

With your help, the Evening of Mardi Gras & Wishes has raised over $43,000 bringing our total for the year to over $88,000! Thank you!

Wish Bracelet

When the W.I.S.H. Society was organized, the founders wanted a symbol that would represent our mission, unify the membership and encourage ongoing donations. We defined giving levels and designated our “Wish Leader” level as a donation of $2,500 or more.

The first time a member donates as a “Wish Leader,” she is presented a charm bracelet with the W.I.S.H. Society signature charm, produced by our generous sponsor Worthmore Jewelers.

Each year, we design a new charm that represents our accomplishments. The new charm is awarded to each “Wish Leader” to add to her bracelet.
