Dixon is a laid-back, witty and funny teenager who loves to listen to music and go fishing with his older brother. He also used to enjoy playing baseball, however he unfortunately had to quit the sport after his kidneys began to fail.
Everything with his kidneys caused Dixon to redirect his focus, and he began playing golf and spent more time fishing. In August of 2017, Dixon received a life-saving kidney transplant.
When his doctor told him that he was eligible for a wish, Dixon instantly knew he wanted to experience golfing near the ocean (where he could do some epic fishing, too) on the Hawaiian island of Maui!
A “Hole-in-One” Experience
As soon as Dixon and his family landed in Maui, they were greeted with a traditional Hawaiian aloha and an island lei. During their trip they spent time hanging out as a family, relaxing on the beach and spotted tropical fish and sea turtles while they were snorkeling. One of the highlights of the week for Dixon was getting to play a round of golf with his brother Christopher. They were surrounded by swaying palm trees and breathtaking ocean views. It was truly a dream come true for Dixon!
Living Life on Island Time
Dixon and his family also got to try their hand at fishing off of Maui’s coast. Dixon was ecstatic to catch a giant fish at the end of their four-hour excursion! The week ended with an authentic Hawaiian-style buffet, Polynesian music and dancing show at the Drums of the Pacific Luau! They were able to soak up the spirit of the island and reflect on the special moments they had experienced together as a family in Hawaii. Dixon and his family will hold the memories they made close to their hearts for years to come.
