Chisom knew right away that she wanted a shopping spree for her wish experience - what teenage girl wouldn't?! Make-A-Wish and Macy's teamed up to give her the experience of a lifetime.
At birth, sixteen-year-old Chisom was diagnosed with a blood disorder that causes red blood cells to be shaped like a crescent instead of a round disc, causing them to be fragile and deliver less oxygen to the body's tissues. Despite her illness mandating that she have constant blood transfusions and visits to her physician, Chisom does her best to try and live a normal life. She enjoys playing sports, singing and hanging out with her friends.
When Make-A-Wish® Georgia volunteers visited her to learn about what her most heartfelt wish might be, she knew right away that she wanted to go on a shopping spree!
Macy’s rolled out the red carpet for Chisom and her family, including special balloons and posters, welcoming her to the Lenox Mall location. She had her own shopping consultant to help her select clothes for all of her needs and she noted that the sales associates made her feel like a celebrity! She and her family then left to have a special lunch at Maggiano’s to celebrate the completion of her wish.
When asked what the best part of her wish experience was, Chisom said, “The whole thing was such a positive experience that I’ll remember forever. I love Make-A-Wish for giving me and my family the chance to share that special day!”
